Position Summary Information

General Description of Position

Are you passionate about teaching students to become trained culinary professionals in a farm to table restaurant, market, or venue? If so, we are looking for a dedicated instructor to join our growing education team. We have an opening for a culinary arts instructor to teach our NEW Farm to Table Culinary Certificate program, providing specific training required to prepare students to assume positions as trained culinary professionals.

This culinary instructor position will provide students with theoretical knowledge/practical applications that meet industry demands, including sustainable practices, operational efficiencies and professionalism. The certificate program is designed for individuals who would like to gain culinary skills needed to enter the food service industry. This program is also a great opportunity for individuals who want to become more comfortable and more proficient in the kitchen.

Courses in the Farm to Table Certificate Program include:
• Introduction to Cooking
• Cooking I: Soups and Sauces
• Cooking II: Meats and Entrees:
• Cooking III: Buffet Preparation
• Garnishing and Food Presentation
• Business & Safety Operations (Includes ServSafe Certification)
• Baking Principles & Pastries and Desserts

Minimum Qualifications

Experience teaching culinary/food preparation; previous food preparation experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Passion for cooking, baking, and teaching; 2-5 years related experience in restaurants and/or catering a plus; culinary school coursework/ degree; extensive knowledge of food and culinary trends; and ServSafe Food Manager Certification.
